The overarching objective of Mandela Day is to inspire individuals to take action to help change the world for the better, and in doing so build a global movement for good. Ultimately it seeks to empower communities everywhere. “Take Action; Inspire Change; Make Every Day a Mandela Day.”
2013 Nelson Mandela International Day will be held in cities around the world on July 18, 2013 with the headquarters at the Mandela Foundation offices in Houghton, Johannesburg.

In previous national and provincial News flashes, NAPTOSA has explained what has transpired since the ELRC Collective Agreement 1 of 2011 was signed.
In a nutshell, the Employer signed Collective Agreement 1 of 2011 in April 2011, but in November 2011, indicated that the agreement was not enforceable , contained an error or mistake and that they did not have the necessary funding to implement the increased marking tariffs. NAPTOSA, as well as all the other teacher unions, are adamant that the collective agreement is valid.
